The Land of the Beardies Festival

Picture View
Friday 2nd November - Sunday 11th November 2007

The seasons in Celtic Country - Glen Innes and surrounding district, in the heart of rural Australia - are distinctive and theres no better time to visit than in our breathtaking spring.

The Land of the Beardies Project will take the story of the Beardies as a springboard into a contemporary parade performance. Circus Solarus will conduct master classes in performance, large puppets, costume and percussion.

Theres an added reason: the Land of the Beardies Festival, a special time for families, when we celebrate our rich, local history. Its a festival that has grown in stature and is building into a mini country music event with free performances by Felicity Urquhart and Aaron Bolton in 2006 and the Kirsty Lee Akers Band this year.

Only 2-4 hours from the coast or 4 hours South of Brisbane, the Land of the Beardies Festival in Glen Innes will provide you with a fun-packed program to suit families and all interests. Best of all most activities are FREE!
